United needed a late goal from Anton Ferdinand to draw their last game against Sunderland. Midfielder Darren Fletcher missed Scotland's friendly against Japan, and is likely to watch this game from the sidelines. The same goes for Wayne Rooney, who is out with a calf injury. Edwin Van der Sar is likely to return in goal, with Ben Foster making way for him.
Like United, Bolton also drew their last game 2-2. The Trotters took the lead two times against Tottenham Hotspur, but the latter showed great spirit to come back on both occasions and rescue a point. Bolton are now unbeaten in their last five games, and have hit a nice little run of form in the league- taking eight points from their last four games has helped them move out of the relegation zone.
