Everton clash against Chelsea in Monday night live Premier league action in a confident mood having clinched a 1-0 win against Manchester City last week. The Toffees won last week at Man City thanks to a lone goal from Tim Cahill. The win also allowed them to recover from a shock 3-2 loss to Aston Villa during the previous week. In that game Joleon Lescott looked to have grabbed a point for his side when he made it 2-2 in the last minute, but Ashley Young slotted in a stunning stoppage-time goal to leave Everton gasping.

Manager David Moyes admitted that the loss rankled, but added that the win at Man City made up for it and more importantly clinched three points for the Goodison park outfit that sees them occupy the 7th spot on the league table with 25 points from 17 games. Although several players including striker Louis Saha continue to be sidelined with injury, Everton have not dropped points and have registered consistent wins after a mixed start to the season.
