The Confederations Cup is seen by many as a dress rehearsal for next years main event in South Africa. However, on its own it is an eagerly awaited tournament. Brazil begin their efforts when they face Egypt on Monday 15th June.
Brazil are one of the favourites to win the tournament and go into the game with high expectations. They will also be defending their title after winning in Germany back in 2005. Unfortunately that result was not echoed in the 2006 World Cup.

Brazil under Dunga have chosen not to call up Ronaldinho, yet their starting eleven still boasts some of the best players in the world.

For Egypt this is their second attempt at the tournament. They will be going all out against Brazil in the hope of grabbing a shock result in their opening encounter. The team is a bit thin with a number of issues and disciplinary issues.
