Villa gave Spain the lead from the penalty spot before second-half efforts from Torres - who netted soon after replacing the Valencia hitman - and Cazorla sealed the win as the Euro 2008 winners extended their unbeaten run to 28 matches.

Villa, starting up front on his own after coach Vicente Del Bosque opted to leave Torres on the bench, looked lively from the start and he managed to get in behind the Chile defence inside the opening 70 seconds.

Spain winger Albert Riera wants to make up for missing out on Euro 2008 by convincing coach Vicente del Bosque to give him a regular place in the squad for the 2010 World Cup campaign.

Liverpool's new recruit Riera was given a chance by Del Bosque on Tuesday after injury forced Sevilla's Diego Capel out of the squad to visit Estonia on Saturday, and Belgium four days later in Group Five qualifiers.
